ATP Atlanta Day 2 Predictions Including Kokkinakis vs Coric

With the Olympics in Paris next week, the ATP tournament in Atlanta doesn’t feature any of the world’s top players, but the field remains competitive. Many American players are in contention for a trophy on home soil, and other talented players are looking to make a big run. The top seeds won’t be in action on Tuesday, but it should still be a very exciting day of high-quality tennis.

ATP Atlanta Day 2 Predictions

Arthur Rinderknech vs. Jeffrey John Wolf

Face-to-face: first meeting

Both players have had disappointing years so far, with Wolf even dropping out of the top 100. Playing on home soil, he will be keen to put together a good run and regain some momentum. Rinderknech played decent tennis at Wimbledon despite a second-round exit to Taylor Fritz, and seems to be in better form overall.

Prediction: Rinderknech in 3

Brandon Nakashima vs. Mackenzie McDonald

Face-to-face: McDonald 3-1 Nakashima

Both Americans have had fairly disappointing seasons so far and will be looking to regain some momentum and confidence this week. The head-to-head is clearly in McDonald’s favor, but Nakashima is the better player at this stage and should be able to win this matchup, given his current form and ability.

Andres Martin vs Juncheng Shang

Face-to-face: first meeting

Martin, ranked 483rd in the world, is one of the lowest-ranked players you’ll see at an ATP tournament this year. He’s never shown any ability to compete at this level and shouldn’t have much to worry Shang about. Shang, 19, is playing very good tennis and has been steadily climbing the rankings, even taking Dimitrov to five sets at Wimbledon. He should be able to win this match fairly easily.

Prediction: Shang in 2

Thanasis Kokkinakis vs. Borna Coric

Face-to-face: Coric 3-0 Kokkinakis

Both players were considered potential future greats when they were young, but they have failed to live up to expectations, with injuries playing a big role, especially in Kokkinakis’ case. At this point in their careers, a 250 title would be a big deal for either player, and they will do whatever it takes to get it. Coric has the head-to-head advantage, but Kokkinakis has been playing better lately and could finally win this matchup.

Prediction: Kokkinakis in 3
