Vincent man arrested in Noble County for sex offenses against minors | News, Sports, Jobs

A Vincent man was arrested for sexual offenses against minors.

Scott Armstrong, 43, of Washington County was arrested July 17 and taken to the Noble County Jail, according to a news release from the Noble County Sheriff’s Office.

Armstrong’s address is 1485 Woodruff Road, Vincent, according to Noble County Court records, and the press release states he is charged with fifth-degree distribution of materials harmful to minors and fourth-degree harassment.

“Scott Armstrong stalked a minor he met through social media and attempted to solicit her for sexual acts,” Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie said in the press release. “Armstrong exchanged sexually motivated nude photographs with the teenager during the communication.”

Armstrong was arraigned on July 19 and released on bail and under electronic monitoring prior to trial, according to court records.

The amount of his bail is unknown.

According to court records, Armstrong’s next court date is scheduled for August 27.

In the press release, Mackie warned parents about the dangers associated with minors’ unrestricted access to social media platforms.
