A 63-year-old CT man convicted of sexual assault is going to prison

A Connecticut man was sentenced to more than two years in prison for a 2018 sexual assault, according to state corrections officials.

Yong Sik Kim, 63, of Brookfield, was sentenced to a total of five years in prison for a 2018 sexual assault in Danbury, but was sentenced to 15 years probation after serving 27 months, according to state corrections officials.

A jury found Kim guilty of third-degree sexual assault and third-degree assault on an elderly person in Danbury Superior Court in February. Authorities said the court imposed a “sentence of five years’ imprisonment, with execution suspended after 27 months” for the charge of third-degree sexual assault and a term of 364 days for the charge of third-degree sexual assault of an elderly person, with the sentence could be imposed at the same time.

Authorities said evidence at trial showed that “the defendant sexually assaulted a co-worker at the victim’s apartment” and that prosecutors “presented DNA evidence to support the victim’s claims.”
