THE CERTIFICATE SAYS 39-YEAR-OLD JOSHUA HOWARD LOST CONTROL OF THE MOTORCYCLE, WENT OFF THE ROAD AND HIT A TREE. HE DIED AT THE SCENE. HIS 13-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER WAS A PASSENGER. SHE WAS TAKEN AWAY

Motorcyclist killed, teenager injured in crash near Gaffney, South Carolina

A motorcyclist has died after losing control of his motorcycle near his home in Gaffney, South Carolina, according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler. A 2009 BMW motorcycle was traveling on South Green River Road around 7 p.m. Monday, Fowler said. Joshua Howard, 39, of Gaffney, was driving the motorcycle. Fowler said Howard lost control near Spoozer Miller Road. The motorcycle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Howard died at the scene, Fowler said. His 13-year-old daughter was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was taken to Spartanburg Medical Center for treatment, Fowler said. Police are still investigating the crash.
