Three injured in shooting in Ferguson, police investigating

FERGUSON, Missouri – Ferguson police are investigating after several people suffered gunshot wounds Monday night.

Just before 6 p.m., police responded to calls about gunshot wounds in the 1000 block of Renshaw Dr. Upon arrival, officers found two men and a woman, all with gunshot wounds.

Ferguson police had cordoned off the house next to the crime scene and the house directly across the street.

Several residents were outside and told behind closed doors that they were shocked and unaware of the magnitude of the incident. They said they heard loud clapping, followed by police officers running down the street.

The St. Louis County Police Department is taking over the investigation, according to the Ferguson Police Department spokesman. County officials collected evidence from the house.

Police say the shooting appears to have occurred inside the home. Before investigators could intervene, animal control had to be called to remove a pit bull from the home.

All three people were taken to a hospital. According to police, one male victim suffered life-threatening injuries, while the second male and one female victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact St. Louis County Police. The investigation is ongoing.
