Woman raped: Woman raped and cheated of Rs 5 lakh on pretext of UK visa | Ludhiana News

Times News NetworkLudhiana: A 22-year-old woman accuses her boyfriend and his brother-in-law of raping her in a hotel room. Police have arrested one of the accused and the other is at large. The woman claims that the accused cheated her of Rs 500,000 to get a UK visa and dropped her at the airport where she found that her visa had not arrived. Dehlon police have filed a case against the woman’s boyfriend and his brother-in-law (sister’s husband), who are at large. The complainant said she met the accused a few months ago and told him that she wanted to settle abroad. The accused assured that he would help her move to the UK. The victim said the accused told her that his visa had arrived. On May 1, she said, he took her to his house and later to a hotel near Tibba Bridge of Sidhwan Canal, where his brother-in-law was also present. The woman alleged that the accused raped her and threatened to cancel her visa if she filed a complaint against him. She said the accused took her to Ambala, where his father took Rs 500,000 in cash from her, then dropped her off at the international airport in New Delhi and fled. She later found out that he had lied about the visa. She returned home and filed a complaint. Investigating officer ASI Ranjit Singh said that an FIR has been filed against the accused. Raids are being conducted to nab the absconding accused.
