Investigation underway into arson in vacant apartment complex in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Memphis Fire Department is investigating an arson attack that occurred Monday morning at a vacant apartment complex in Cherokee, according to officials.

At 3:17 a.m., firefighters were called to the former Washington Square Apartments on Kimball Avenue.

According to police, there were several causes of fire in one of the vacant buildings.

No injuries were reported. MFD officials say there was a total of $250,000 in damage to the complex.

No arrests were made.
