Prescott Valley Police Arrest Wanted Woman After Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident

PRESCOTT, Arizona – Authorities say a woman wanted for a hit-and-run was recently arrested in Prescott Valley.

Prescott Valley Police said officers, assisted by traffic cameras, arrested Tereasa Miller, who was wanted in connection with the fatal crash in Pinal County.

The cameras are part of the city’s Automatic License Plate Reading (ALPR) system. The system has been in operation since January 2024.

According to police, ALPR has “proven to be an important aid to law enforcement in a variety of cases, including human trafficking, drug enforcement and vehicle recovery.”

In June 2024, the system was used to assist in the investigation of an attempted murder case, according to police.

“The introduction of ALPRs in Prescott Valley demonstrates PVPD’s commitment to utilizing new technologies to maintain community safety and reduce crime,” police said.

According to police, the system only “registers” license plates that are linked to a crime or a missing person.

Police did not release any further details about Miller and the hit-and-run.
