A 25-year-old Australian woman is said to have been gang raped just days before the Olympic Games in Paris

An Australian woman is said to have been the victim of a gang rape in Paris a few days before the start of the 2024 Olympic Games.

On Monday, the French news website The Paris reported that a 25-year-old Australian woman was found disoriented and in distress outside a kebab shop at 5am on Saturday 20 July.

The dress of the woman, who reportedly did not speak a word of French, was found “upside down” and “partially torn”.

When the shop owners saw her stunned state, they called the police. The woman claimed that she was raped by five men and was taken by the fire department to Bichat Hospital, where she was given a medical examination.

“The investigation into the charge of gang rape, presumably committed on the night of July 19-20, has been entrusted to the 2nd Criminal Investigation District,” the Paris public prosecutor’s office said in a statement. The Paris.

The woman reportedly had no memory of what happened that evening due to her alcohol consumption, but police said they were working tirelessly to “quickly identify the individuals and bring them to justice.”

The hearing is reportedly scheduled for Monday.
