Road rage incident ends in assault – Detroit Lakes Tribune

    One vehicle accident reported near the intersection of US Highway 10 and County Highway 54, Detroit Lakes. One non-life threatening injury was reported.

  • 12:01 p.m., The theft of a gas cap was reported at a store on Morrow Avenue in Detroit Lakes.
  • 12:36 p.m., Suspicious activity was reported at a residence on Washington Avenue in Detroit Lakes when a potentially threatening note was found on the windshield of a vehicle.
  • 13:56, Children were playing on the railroad tracks in Frazee and were seen placing a traffic cone in front of the tracks.
  • 2.15 p.m., A sexual assault on a vulnerable adult has been reported in Ogema. The incident is under investigation.
  • 16:04, Male teenagers were caught playing with a doorbell. The children’s parents were notified.
  • 19:37, Children were reportedly driving an ATV through people’s front yards along Gull Road in Ogema.
  • 10:39 p.m., Domestic violence was reported at a residence in rural Detroit Lakes. A 27-year-old Detroit Lakes man was arrested. The victim was an adult female.
  • 11:29 am, A fire was reported in the grass near the railroad on Kris Street, Detroit Lakes. While railroad workers were cutting rails, it is suspected that a spark started the fire. It was extinguished without incident.
  • 17:50, During a traffic stop on US Highway 10, a 28-year-old man from Menahga was arrested for drunk driving.
  • 19:58, A small fire was reported in the ditch near Cozy Cove Road, Detroit Lakes. It was extinguished without incident.
  • 22:03, A fire was reported along Hubble Pond Road in Rochert. The fire consisted of a pile of green grass in a smoldering burn pile.
  • 11:14 p.m., During a traffic stop on County Highway 34 in Ogema, a 41-year-old Callaway man was arrested for drunk driving.
  • 2:01 am, During a traffic stop on US Highway 59, Ogema, a 59-year-old woman from Detroit Lakes was arrested for drunk driving.
  • 19:46, During a traffic stop on County Highway 25, Detroit Lakes, a 48-year-old woman from Casselton, North Dakota, was charged with DUI and child endangerment. Four teenagers and another adult passenger were in the woman’s vehicle.
  • 00:27, During a traffic stop on County Highway 11 in Audubon, a 31-year-old man from West Fargo, North Dakota, was arrested for drunk driving.
  • 1:18 am, During a traffic stop on County Highway 4, Lake Park, a 40-year-old woman from West Fargo, North Dakota, was arrested for drunk driving.
  • 8:46 am, Property damage was reported at Dunton Locks County Park when a wooden railing was found broken in half.
  • 10:47 am, The theft of a chainsaw from a residential garage on Lincoln Avenue, Detroit Lakes, was reported.
  • 11:36 am, Theft of gasoline and a gas can was reported at a storage facility on State Highway 34 in Detroit Lakes. The fuel lines were also reportedly severed.
  • 16:11, An officer in Frazee saw an adult female throw an empty can on the ground along Main Avenue in Frazee and was told to pick it up.
  • 17:10, Damage to four mailboxes was reported along County Highway 48 in Osage.
  • 19:44, A break-in was reported at a residence on 410th Avenue in Frazee. A mobile home had been broken into.
  • 21:36, An assault was reported near the intersection of County Highway 6 and County Highway 15, Detroit Lakes. The accident report states the victim, a 26-year-old man from Audubon, was passing a truck. After passing the vehicle, it attempted to force it off the road, tailgated it, and when it stopped, an adult male exited the vehicle and struck it in the head with a telephone.
