Two dead after plane crash near EAA in Oshkosh, NTSB investigating cause

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Oshkosh are investigating a plane crash that killed two people south of EAA AirVenture.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were dispatched to a field in the area of ​​Old Knapp Road and Nekimi Avenue at approximately 12:50 p.m. on July 22 for a report of a plane crash. The area is reportedly about two miles south of EAA AirVenture and was first reported by air traffic control at the Wittman Airport Tower.


When authorities arrived on the scene, a plane was on fire. Two people were on board, both of whom are dead, according to the press release.
