2 dead in head-on collision west of Lamont

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – Two men died in a head-on collision between an SUV and a pickup truck west of Lamont early Saturday morning. Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.

California Highway Patrol officials said a Chevy Tahoe and a Chevy Silverado collided in the area of ​​Buena Vista Boulevard and Adobe Road around 2 a.m. The drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, officials said, and a passenger in the Tahoe was taken to Kern Medical with minor injuries.


The names of the deceased will be announced by the coroner.

According to the CHP, the Tahoe was traveling east and the Silverado was traveling west when the crash occurred, for reasons that remain under investigation.
