Russian attacks caused 35 fires in the Kharkiv region last week

UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, July 22 – During the week of July 15-21, Russian attacks caused 35 fires in Kharkiv region, killing one person and injuring 14, Yevhen Vasylenko, spokesman for the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv region, told a briefing.

Cities and villages in Kharkiv Oblast have frequently been subjected to massive Russian artillery shelling and air strikes, especially since Russia launched a new ground offensive in the north and northeast of the region in the directions of Vovchansk and Lyptsi in May.

On the night of July 18, the Russian military attacked private households and civilians in the village of Hluzhkivka, causing a fire in a 60 m2 residential building. The shelling killed one woman and injured two men.

On the same day, at around 4:00 a.m., the Russians shelled a residential area in Chuhuiv, setting fire to nine cars. The shelling damaged administrative buildings, residential buildings and houses, and injured nine civilians.

On July 20, the Russian army launched a rocket attack on the village of Pechenihy in Chuhuiv district, injuring one woman. The shelling set fire to the structural elements of a warehouse building of an agricultural enterprise on an area of ​​30 m2, and dry grass on an open area of ​​200 m2 caught fire.

In addition, on the night of July 21, Russians launched a missile attack on the residential area of ​​the village of Bilyi Kolodiaz in the Vovchansk municipality.

The explosions damaged residential and outbuildings, a building measuring approximately 70 m2 caught fire and two men were injured.
