Fall River man killed in stabbing in Brockton

BROCKTON, Massachusetts (WPRI) – An investigation is ongoing after a 39-year-old Fall River man was killed in a stabbing in Brockton on Saturday.

When officers arrived at the intersection of Crescent and Montello Streets around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, they found a male victim.

The victim, identified as Edmar Goncalves, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the suspect, 36-year-old Johnny Richmond, was found at the scene and arrested.

It is unclear what led to the stabbing, but police say it does not appear to be a random act of violence.
