Tempting job: Girl from Mysuru sexually abused in Chennai

Truck driver and his accomplice arrested

Chennai: A woman is among two people arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl from Mysuru on the pretext of providing her with a job.

The incident took place in Chennai and those arrested are 32-year-old Satish Kumar from Vellore and his accomplice, 33-year-old Shakhila from Madipakkam.

Both the accused were produced before a court which remanded them in judicial custody. According to sources, the main accused worked as a truck driver in Chennai.

Details: The job-seeking girl had left her parents in Coimbatore and came to Chennai in search of work.

She left her friend’s house in Kovilambakkam and went to the bus stand for Mysuru. There, a man introduced himself and promised to get her a job. He even asked the girl to stay at his friend’s house in Arumbakkam until she found a job.

The girl believed him and accompanied the man to the house in Arumbakkam.

As soon as the man and the girl entered the house, the man closed the door and allegedly sexually assaulted the girl. It is learnt that Shakhila (girlfriend of the accused) was also in the house when the incident took place.

Later, the girl somehow managed to call the police emergency number and inform them about the incident.

The inspector and staff of Koyambedu women police station immediately responded, searched the house and rescued the girl.

Based on the victim’s report, the police are investigating and have arrested the man and woman.
