Cayuga County Sheriff investigates fatal crash of Homer man in town of Sempronius

A Homer man has died after a crash at the intersection of Atwood Road and Frazier Road in the town of Sempronius, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office said. Emergency crews were called to a car crash with injuries on Friday, July 19, at around 11:40 p.m.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says a preliminary investigation shows a single vehicle was involved in the crash, leaving the roadway and striking a pole. Only one person was in the vehicle during the crash and was identified as 23-year-old Lane H. Quaile from Homer.

Quaile was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is currently ongoing. Anyone with information regarding the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Detective Dave Harkness at. 315-294-8143.

According to the sheriff’s office, Four Town Ambulance, Sempronius Fire Department, New Hope Fire Department and Cayuga County Coroner’s Office were at the scene.
