Eureka man arrested for alleged child abuse of four-year-old

EUREKA, Illinois – Eureka police said a man was arrested following an investigation into child abuse.

The department said it was working with the Woodford County Sheriff’s Department and DCFS on Friday to investigate the matter.

As part of the investigation, 27-year-old Logan Lowery was arrested later that same day.

Lowery is alleged to have hit a four-year-old child in his care with his fist, a heating pad power cord and a belt.

The four-year-old was taken to a pediatric intensive care unit.

Lowery is accused of aggravated assault on a child and aggravated domestic violence.

As of Monday morning, no court date had been scheduled for Lowery.
