One dead and nine injured in mass shooting at Dineen Park in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – A 17-year-old girl is dead and nine other teenagers were injured after a shooting early Monday morning in Dineen Park in Milwaukee.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. after a fight broke out following a so-called “spontaneous car party” in the park in the northwest of the city.

Of the nine injured youths, an 18-year-old man is in critical condition. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said a 19-year-old woman was treated at the scene for being trampled at the accident scene.

Two homes – one near N. 66th Street and W. Vienna Avenue and one at N. 67th Street and W. Vienna Avenue – were struck by gunfire that appears to be related to this incident, but no injuries were reported at either home.
