Buffalo Pro Soccer provides updates during City Hall event

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) – More than 100 people showed up at Banshee Irish Pub on Thursday for Buffalo Pro Soccer’s first-ever Town Board event.

Buffalo Pro Soccer President Peter Marlette, Jr. provided updates on the organization and explained what the future of professional soccer looks like in Buffalo.

“We try to have an average ticket price a little under $35, with a GA (general admission) the ticket price at the door is much lower than that. We want to cater to everyone who wants to come and watch some professional football, and that means having a good cheap GA ticket, but it also means having suites, it also means having field level seats and I can pay for that, I can.”

Buffalo Pro Soccer has not yet officially announced the location of the new stadium. However, Marlette said they narrowed it down to four finalists in the city of Buffalo. Each location offers the theoretical space necessary for a modular stadium of 10,000 seats, which Marlette would have liked to build.

“One of the sites in particular, which is on the shortlist, might require something a little larger than that. My feeling at the moment is that a modular system remains the way to go for all sites that we end up selecting,” Marlette said. » said in an interview, before the event. “It’s cheaper, fully customizable, can meet the exact needs of the buffalo and can be operational within a year.”

The organization has not yet announced the team’s official name or colors, but Marlette said it is actively seeking recommendations from the community.

Banshee co-owner Conor Hawkins said it was an incredibly exciting opportunity for Buffalo to have its own professional football team. Although the stadium is expected to be built by 2026, Hawkins wants to sponsor and promote the team.

Hawkins said: “We’re going to be involved, support, sponsor. Anything to do with this football team, we want to be involved. We want to be the place where all the fans come in, play and come after.”
