Service on the Tokaido Shinkansen line partially suspended after accident

The Central Japan Railway Company has suspended operations on the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train line between Nagoya and Hamamatsu stations following an accident. The operator says it does not know when operations on the affected section will resume.

According to Central Japan Railway, a maintenance vehicle crashed into another maintenance vehicle between Toyohashi and Mikawa-Anjo stations early Monday.

It says that both vehicles went off the track and one driver was slightly injured.
