Milwaukee man shot in Taco Bell parking lot

A family is searching for answers Monday after a fatal shooting Sunday night. Stanley Smith, 41, was shot in the Taco Bell parking lot near 56th Street and North Avenue, the Milwaukee County coroner’s office said. A witness walked in. She went to the salon across the street when she saw the chaos. “They were fighting, the man fell to the ground, and after that I didn’t see anything because everyone started running,” she told WISN 12 News. On Monday the police were looking for clues. While normal operations resumed at Taco Bell, only the drive-thru was open. Smith’s mother told WISN 12 News her 41-year-old son was at the Scene 1 Lounge down the block when the DJ announced someone’s car was being broken into in the Taco Bell parking lot. She said it wasn’t his car, but he went over anyway. Then he was shot. Jason Alston owns a nearby restaurant and is in shock. “It’s usually quiet here. Normal people walk to and from work or stop to get food or get a haircut,” he said. He’s fed up with violence in Milwaukee “Anger doesn’t always have to lead to someone getting shot,” Alston said. He hopes the community can move forward. “I would recommend everyone to come to this area and visit these establishments and shops. We all know each other and.” “We all love each other,” he said.
