Buffalo Firefighters Take on Buffalo Police in Classic Softball Game

WEST SENECA NY (WKBW) — Buffalo’s Bravest and Buffalo’s Finest faced off on the baseball field Sunday afternoon in West Seneca.

“We play a little softball and it’s for a good cause,” says John Lyons, associate brand manager at Genesee Brewery in Rochester.

This is a fundraiser for Courage for Carly, which supports pediatric cancer research through Roswell Park.

“We’re interested in western and central New York and New York in general,” Lyons said. “We want to do our part to help.”

The Buffalo Police and Buffalo Fire Department men’s and women’s teams took the field along with Team Genesee Beer and Team WYRK.

“It’s a wonderful symbol of unity and camaraderie coming together,” Lyons said.
