Sticks: Man attacked while playing with children in park | Chandigarh News

Times News NetworkChandigarh: The UT police have filed a chargesheet against four men for allegedly attacking two persons with iron rods and sticks at a park in Ramdarbar. One victim, who sustained injuries, has been admitted to GMCH-32. The complainant, Vinod Kumar, 32, a resident of Phase 2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, said he and his friend Sandeep were playing with children at the elephant park around 7 pm on July 18 when accused Jhingur and Mukesh came with an iron rod and a stick. Vinod said he tried to go home but Jhingur hit him on the head with the iron rod and Mukesh attacked him with a stick. He said two accomplices of the accused also beat him up. When Sandeep came to his aid, the accused attacked him too. Vinod said he fell on the ground bleeding and raised an alarm. The accused fled when people gathered and informed the police. Vinod was taken to GMCH-32. Both his arms were broken and he sustained injuries on his head. Charges were filed against Jhingur, Mukesh and two others with the relevant BNS authorities.District court employee attackedThe UT Police have booked a resident of Attawa village, Sector 42, for attacking a UT District Court employee when he went to serve summons. In his complaint to the police, Rajinder Singh, a professor at the UT District Court, said he had gone to a house in Attawa village to serve summons and met the accused Sonu there. When the complainant told Sonu that he had come to serve summons, the accused locked him in the house and beat him up. He said family members of the accused intervened and rescued him. Later, Rajinder informed police on 112 and a PCR arrived at the scene. Police took the victim to GMSH-16 and arrested Sonu.
