SBA Seed Fund Tour comes to Atlanta to connect innovation and technology startups to funding – On Common Ground News

WASHINGTON DCTHE U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced it will launch a road tour of Southeastern states to connect underrepresented entrepreneurs with contract funding for innovation and technology.

THE American seed fund Road Tour supports next-generation research and development (R&D) and commercialization of innovations and provides more than $4 billion in non-dilutive funding annually from 11 participating federal agencies.

“America relies on ingenuity to develop critical technologies and create the industries of the future, and we need all the great ideas and inventions to propel our global leadership,” said Isabel C. Guzman, administrator of the SBA. “It’s a remarkable time to get started in this country – under the Biden-Harris administration, we’re investing in America, in research and development, advanced manufacturing, clean energy and much more. President Biden believes America is about opportunity. And he is fighting to ensure that American ingenuity and innovation can propel our economy and our nation forward. »

Each Road Tour visit is organized by the SBA Federal and State Technology Partner (FAST)s, which serve as navigators connecting entrepreneurs to U.S. seed fund opportunities in their regions. During each visit, entrepreneurs and small business owners have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with nearly two dozen federal agency representatives and participate in programs designed to support their journey to America’s Seed Fund.

“America’s Seed Fund Road Tour plays an important role in ensuring broad access to a critical source of early-stage research and development capital, particularly for entrepreneurs historically underrepresented in the innovation economy American,” said Associate Administrator for Investment and Innovation Bailey DeVries. “It is imperative to raise awareness of the opportunities provided by the SBIR and STTR programs at the local and regional levels to drive technological innovation and build a thriving and secure American economy. »
