LSU Cornerback Javien Toviano Arrested for Video Voyeurism | Crime/Police

LSU sophomore cornerback Javien Toviano turned himself in to authorities on Sunday after being accused of video voyeurism, an East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office spokesman said.

According to the arrest warrant, 19-year-old Toviano is accused of filming himself having sex with a woman without her consent. The woman told investigators she found videos of the two on Toviano’s iPad, recorded by a watch with a built-in camera that was attached to the bed.

Toviano “has been suspended from all team activities in accordance with department policy,” LSU said in a statement. LSU begins preseason practice on Aug. 1, and Toviano should compete for playing time at cornerback.

“Out of respect for the legal process, we will not comment further,” the statement said.

The woman told investigators that Toviano had filmed her having sex without her consent in the past and that she did not want to be filmed.

In an interview with detectives, Toviano admitted to using a hidden camera in the watch to record the sexual encounters, the arrest warrant states.

Toviano signed with LSU as a top-100 recruit in the class of 2023 out of Arlington, Texas. As a freshman, he appeared in every game and started three times in the final five games. He finished his freshman season with 33 tackles and a pass defense.

LSU faces tough competition at the two cornerback positions heading into preseason practice. Toviano was in the running for a key position after playing both cornerback and nickelback as a freshman.
