QC courses for SONA 2024 suspended

The Quezon City government is demanding that residents have the opportunity to watch President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address.

MANILA, Philippines – Classes at all levels in private schools in Quezon City will be suspended on Monday, July 22, to allow residents to watch President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s State of the Nation Address (SONA).

The school closure will also save residents from getting stuck in heavy traffic. Several activist groups will march and hold protests near Batasang Pambansa in time for the President’s speech.

Classes in public schools have not yet started, but the municipality announced that the activities of the Brigada Eskuwela – the cleaning and tidying up work in preparation for the opening of schools on July 29 – will be suspended on SONA day.
