Wrong-way driver arrested in Concord – NBC Boston

A woman faces multiple charges for driving the wrong way on a highway and failing to stop for the police.

New Hampshire State Police said they responded to reports of a wrong-way driver on I-93 around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

An officer initially attempted to pull the car over in Concord, but the driver did not stop and continued south. A tire depressor was deployed and the driver continued south in the northbound lanes until he eventually stopped north of I-393, authorities said.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Emily R. Lecuyer of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a police officer, police said.

Lecuyer was released on parole.

She is expected to appear in Concord District Court at a later date.

Anyone who saw the vehicle traveling in the wrong direction or has any information is asked to call (603) 223-4381.
