Pedestrian hit and killed near a restaurant in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Mississippi (WJTV) – A pedestrian was struck and killed near a restaurant in Rankin County.

The accident occurred on Saturday, July 20, shortly after 10:00 p.m. on MS 43 North near Sunset Grill.

Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) officials said a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound when it collided with a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was identified as 41-year-old Marcia Errington of Crystal Springs.

Errington was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.

This accident remains under investigation by MHP.
