Meloni condemns attack on journalist as unacceptable – Politics

(see related articles) Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Sunday condemned an attack on Andrea Joly, a reporter for the daily newspaper La Stampa, during the night in Turin, allegedly carried out by a group of far-right militants.


“I express my solidarity with the journalist Andrea Joly, who was the victim of an unacceptable attack last night in Turin,” said Meloni, leader of the right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party.


“(It is) an act of violence that I condemn in the strongest possible terms and for which I hope that those responsible will be identified as soon as possible.”


“The government’s attention is at its maximum and I have asked Interior Minister (Matteo) Piantedosi to keep me informed of developments in this case.”
