Murder suspect arrested in San Antonio

Kerrville Police have confirmed that Gabriel Rene Aleman was arrested in San Antonio on Saturday night. Aleman was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 36-year-old Deanna Leann Arispe, which occurred around 1:22 a.m. Saturday morning in the 2800 block of Hunt Street in Kerrville.

According to authorities, detectives with the KPD Criminal Investigation Division, working with the Texas Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers, received information that Aleman was hiding from law enforcement at an address in San Antonio. The San Antonio Police Department was notified and placed surveillance on the location. Aleman was located and arrested by SAPD in the 400 block of San Gabriel, San Antonio, around 11:00 p.m. Saturday night. Aleman is currently being held in the Bexar County Jail on a $1,000,000 bail. He is charged with murder (Texas Penal Code 19.02).

Casandra Carin Moreno, 31, was arrested for hindering apprehension or prosecution as a known felon, third-degree felony, Texas Penal Code 38.05, after she offered Aleman a ride to San Antonio following the shooting, a news release said. Moreno was arrested in the 300 block of Carolyn Street West in Ingram and is currently being held in the Kerr County Jail.

Investigators are currently gathering further facts and it is possible that further criminal charges will be filed.
