Motorcycle crash: Edens Expressway lanes reopened after fatal motorcycle crash in Skokie, Illinois. State police investigation

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) – A motorcyclist was killed after a serious accident on the Edens Expressway in the northern suburbs, Illinois State Police said.

The accident occurred around 8:16 p.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes of I-94 at Lake Avenue near Skokie.

According to police, the driver of a Suzuki motorcycle collided with a Toyota Prius while driving up the ramp.

After the accident, the motorcycle caught fire. The driver was taken to hospital, where he later died.

The video shows the bicycle and metal parts scattered across the street.

Traffic was diverted via Skokie Avenue until 12:25 a.m., after which all lanes were reopened, ISP said.

There was initially no information available about the deceased driver. It is unknown whether the driver of the Prius suffered any injuries.
