Two injured in Russian attack on Kharkiv: Ukraine

STORY: The Air Force said in a statement on the messaging app Telegram that Russia also fired two anti-aircraft missiles.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Ilya Yevlash said in a television broadcast that Russia most likely used the missiles to attack Kharkiv in the northeast of the country.

Oleh Sinehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, said that as a result of the Russian attack, which targeted both infrastructure and residential areas, three residential buildings were set on fire and about dozens were damaged.

Two people, including an 11-year-old child, suffered shock and received medical attention, Sinehubov said on the messaging app Telegram.

Reuters could not independently verify the reports.

Moscow denies targeting civilians in what it claims are legitimate attacks on Ukraine’s military, energy and transport infrastructure.
