Mobile man arrested in connection with shooting at Pleasant Valley Road barbershop: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured five people at a barbershop on Pleasant Valley Road, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Jamarcus Lawarren Grayson, 21, was released from the hospital and booked into the Mobile Metro Jail on Thursday evening in connection with the shooting.

Grayson is charged with two counts of first-degree assault and two counts of second-degree assault. He will appear in court Friday morning for a bond hearing.

Mobile officers responded to a reported shooting at 3361A Pleasant Valley Road on Saturday, April 27, at approximately 2:30 p.m

Officers learned that two people were arguing in a store. Things escalated when both people fired shots, injuring themselves and innocent bystanders.

Two customers in the store were injured and a vehicle in the parking lot was struck by gunfire. Another person sitting outside a neighboring business was also hit, the statement said.

The injured were then taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
