A man of Indian descent was shot dead in the US state of Indiana on Tuesday in an alleged incident of driving aggression, media reports said on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as 29-year-old Gavin Dasaur.

According to WTHR, witnesses told police that the shooting appeared to stem from an incident of road rage between the driver of a black Honda and a white Chevy pickup truck.

Witnesses reported that an argument broke out between the drivers and that at some point the driver of the pickup truck shot at the other driver.

The pickup was confiscated but later released after investigation.

Investigators told the media that the driver may have acted in self-defense.

Dasaur, who hails from the northern Indian city of Agra, recently got married.

“He was a hard-working man who always went above and beyond to help others and who wanted to give the world to me and his family,” Dasaur’s wife, Cinthya ZaMora, told 13News. “He did not deserve to die like this. It is a tragedy that my husband was murdered in cold blood.”

A video circulated on social media showing the man of Indian origin getting out of his vehicle and shouting at the truck driver.

He was seen banging on the truck door with a gun in his hand.

The truck driver responded by shooting at him.

“The law says you can use reasonable force if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent serious physical harm to yourself or another person,” attorney John Tompkins told fox59.
