Minor girl sexually harassed by school janitor by showing porn videos

Pune: In a disturbing case, a 50-year-old school janitor was accused of sexually harassing an underage, mentally disabled girl by showing her pornographic videos.

This incident took place around 10 am in the passage outside the school toilet. Nigdi police have filed a case against the caretaker Narayan Kumaji Thubal under the POCSO Act and other relevant laws.

A 38-year-old woman filed a complaint at Nigdi police station, which led to a charge against Thubal under sections 64(2)(D), (K), (M), 67 and 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act and the Protection of Civil Rights Act.

According to police, the victim is a mentally challenged girl studying in a school in Nigdi area. Despite knowing about her illness, the accused showed her pornographic videos and threatened to kill her while sexually abusing her.

The accused is said to have committed these acts since 2022. On July 16, the accused showed the victim pornographic videos in the hallway next to the school toilet, threatened her and performed indecent acts that caused her great suffering.

The complaint also mentions that the accused repeatedly forced her to perform physical acts in the toilet. Though a case has been filed under the POCSO Act, the accused has not been arrested yet. Senior Police Inspector Shatrughna Mali of Nigdi police station is conducting further investigation.

The victim, a 13-year-old girl, was allegedly sexually abused by her uncle and cousin and her father also tried to sexually abuse her.
