Two teenagers arrested for burglary in Hilo, Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Two juveniles were arrested and charged with burglary and related property crimes following two incidents in Hilo on Wednesday.

According to Hawaii police, the suspects, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old teenager, were caught on surveillance video breaking a window at Waiakea Elementary School. They were seen stealing items from an office and using fire extinguishers they took from Waiakea Middle School.


The surveillance footage was shared on social media and led to the boys being identified by their family members.

The 15-year-old was dropped off at the Hilo Police Station by a family member on Thursday, and the 14-year-old was dropped off by a parent the following day.
