Police search for three masked suspects in connection with robbery at small business in Grand Prairie – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

Grand Prairie police said they were working a case in which three masked suspects broke into a small business and stole two safes full of cash.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday at Lili’s Restaurant on South Belt Line Road.

“They came and broke into my mother’s restaurant through the back door,” Marie Bonilla explained.

She said they stole safes containing a total of nearly $25,000. She said the cash came from her mother’s money transfer service, which was operated out of her supermarket, which was attached to her restaurant.

“People send hard work and a lot of money to their families,” Bonilla said.

In surveillance footage that Bonilla shared with NBC 5 and posted online, three masked suspects can be seen, one of whom is wearing yellow gloves and looks directly into the camera at one point before slamming it down.

Another suspect is wearing a hoodie with the words “Screwed Up Click” on the back.

Police told NBC 5 that no arrests have been made in the case. Bonilla hopes the release of the surveillance video will help.

“I think the more we share and make known, the better the chances of catching these guys,” she said.

She said it was hard to see so much money taken away from her mother’s business in a matter of minutes, especially after she had worked hard for it for more than a decade.

“It was a big burden for us,” Bonilla said.

Although the three uninvited guests left an ugly impression for a while, there was still a lot of love involved, she said.

“We just realized that we just have to get up and keep going because, look, the business is still going, there are still customers coming in, there are still customers who still … depend on my mother’s business,” she said.
