Authorities clarify what really happened in the Ville Platte sonic syringe incident | News 15 Investigates

VILLE PLATTE, Louisiana (KADN) – News 15 Investigates is clarifying rumors about an incident at the Sonic restaurant in Ville Platte.

A man spreads a story reported in another media outlet that his child received a bag of food that included two discarded syringes and calls for Sonic to be closed.

Authorities told us what really happened at Ville Platte Sonic. They said a sealed and unused syringe containing insulin was placed in a bag by a diabetic employee and put away for safekeeping. Another employee accidentally grabbed the bag and placed an order in it.

Investigators added that no criminal conduct occurred and no charges would be filed.

For them the case is closed.

Authorities said the man pushing the story may be trying to sue Sonic to collect money.
