Houston shooter Anthony Landry charged with murder of lawyer Jeffrey Limmer at McDonald’s

The angry customer who allegedly killed a Houston attorney after becoming upset over his McDonald’s order was identified as a 57-year-old man with a lengthy criminal record as he remained at large Thursday.

Anthony Martin Landry faces a murder charge in connection with the death of Jeffrey Limmer inside the fast food restaurant around 6 p.m. on May 4, Houston police said.

Landry had demanded reimbursement from workers at the McDonald’s on the West Interstate Highway 10 service road in Houston before Limmer intervened.

Limmer tried to calm Landry, 46, down, but soon the two got into an argument that turned physical outside in the store’s parking lot, according to KTRK.

Landry allegedly pushed the attorney to the ground, retrieved a gun from his car and shot the attorney multiple times.

The shooter fled the scene in his early 2000s blue Ford pickup truck and remains at large, police said.

Limmer was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the time of the shooting, Landry was on $10,000 bail for aggravated assault after hitting a family member with a cane on Feb. 17, 2024, causing bodily harm, according to court records viewed by The Post.

He was due to appear in court on May 10.

In the 1990s, Landry faced several criminal charges for possession of crack cocaine, evading custody and forgery.

Limmer’s family hopes their loved one’s killer will be caught and brought to justice for the lawyer’s death.

“Our family is relieved to learn that the suspect has been identified, and we pray that he is apprehended as quickly as possible so that he cannot harm anyone else,” Limmer’s family said in a statement. obtained by Fox 26 Houston. “Additionally, we pray for the safety of law enforcement as they work to bring him to justice.”

“We are grateful to the community for your overwhelming love and support, and we ask that you respect our privacy as we mourn the loss of our beloved Jeff.”

Limmer’s sister said she wasn’t surprised her brother tried to calm the angry customer before he died.

“Knowing Jeff, he’s the one who always says, ‘Calm down. It’s not that big of a deal and a distraction from the situation,” Jennifer Thomas told ABC 13. “He always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing.”

Limmer lived near the McDonald’s and often ordered there, his sister said.

He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a bachelor’s degree in government with a minor in business and received his law degree from South Texas College of Law, according to his obituary.

He worked as an associate at the law firm Lewis Brisbois in Houston.

The lawyer is remembered as a lover of music and the great outdoors.

With his family, Limmer leaves behind his precious companion, Lola, a bulldog that he rescued in 2020.
