Car of fleeing policeman collides with two other cars

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said a fleeing car crashed a second vehicle into a truck after running a red light Friday afternoon.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), on July 19 at around 6 p.m., a car trying to escape police ran a red light and collided with another car, seriously injuring the driver and a passenger of the second vehicle.

According to SCSO, a Spokane Valley officer attempted to stop a Subaru without license plates traveling east on Sprague near McDonald Avenue.

The car then accelerated through a red light and struck a Honda traveling south on McDonald Avenue. The second car was pushed into a truck that was making a left turn onto Sprague and yielded the right of way.

According to SCSO, the driver and one of the passengers of the Honda suffered possibly life-threatening injuries. Another passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries. All three were taken to the hospital, according to SCSO.

The driver of the truck that was hit suffered only minor injuries.

The suspect, 29-year-old Boddy S. Million Jr., was arrested and taken to the hospital by officers. The two adult passengers in the suspect’s car suffered minor injuries.

After being examined by medical personnel and found guilty, the suspect was booked into the Spokane County Jail and charged with five counts of assault with a vehicle and attempted escape from a police vehicle.

According to SCSO, the officer on scene was not injured.

SCSO states that traffic unit investigators were on scene to collect evidence, document the accident scene and conduct an ongoing investigation.

The Washington State Patrol was also asked for assistance.
