A horrifying video shows a US woman being suffocated with a belt, dragged behind a car and raped

A man attacked a woman in New York City by tying her with a belt around her neck and dragging her between two cars before sexually assaulting her. According to police, the incident, which was caught on surveillance cameras, occurred around 3 a.m. on May 1 in the Bronx district.

The man, whose identity remains unknown, attacked the woman around 3 a.m. on May 1 in the Bronx borough. The 45-year-old woman was walking along a sidewalk when the attacker approached her from behind.

Surveillance footage shows the attacker, whose face is covered by a white cloth, secretly following the woman. He suddenly tied her neck with a belt and forcibly pulled her to the ground.

The victim, who was seen struggling to free himself from the belt, was dragged down the sidewalk by the attacker. When the woman appeared to faint, the attacker dragged her between two cars where he raped her unconscious.

The man then fled the scene and is still wanted by police. The survivor was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln for treatment and is in stable condition.

The suspect had reportedly just had a brief conversation with the woman before attacking her.

The NYPD described the man as a man with medium skin tone, 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a black sweatshirt with “GAP” written on it in white, white sweatpants and black, red and white sneakers.

The NYPD’s Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident.
