Rape: Two businessmen arrested for raping women workers in Achampet | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Two businessmen were arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping two women workers in Achampet in Nagarkurnool district.
According to police, the crime occurred on July 18 (Thursday) when the survivors were travelling in a car with the two accused. However, the crime was not made known until two days later.
In their lawsuit, the survivors said they would clean the defendants’ store if asked to do so. On Thursday, the store owners called the women to clean.
After completing the task, the accused asked the workers to stay for a while and offered them alcohol. “After consuming alcohol, the four decided to return to their respective houses. The businessmen let the women get into their car and started their journey home,” said a police officer. On the way, the two accused allegedly raped the women.
Based on a complaint filed by the workers, the police registered a rape case and took the two businessmen into custody for questioning. After interrogation, the police prima facie concluded that the rape allegations were true.
The police visited the scene and reconstructed the crime. The car in which the alleged crime had taken place was seized. The accused were then arrested and brought before a local judge, who remanded them in custody. The women were sent for a medical examination.
