Suspect who attacked Stevens County assistant prosecutor with machete shot dead by police | News

STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – A Stevens County assistant prosecutor was attacked by a man with a machete near the courthouse Friday afternoon.

According to the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office, the prosecutor suffered a serious facial injury and was taken to a nearby hospital. He was able to provide a description of the suspect and the vehicle.

The suspect was found a short time later in a gravel parking lot north of Colville.

According to Stevens County, the suspect got out of the vehicle with a machete and attacked a deputy sheriff.

The officer shot the suspect.

The attacked prosecutor is expected to make a full recovery.
