Winger Linus Weissbach has returned home to play in the Swedish Hockey League.

The former Buffalo Sabres prospect signed a two-year contract with Frolunda HC on Saturday.

Weissbach, 26, spent the last three seasons with the Rochester Americans, scoring 52 goals and 117 points in 192 AHL games. He added four goals and 11 points in 18 games during the Calder Cup playoffs.

The Swede, who became an unrestricted free agent on July 1, had his best season in 2022-23, scoring 20 goals and 47 points in 69 outings.

The Sabres drafted Weissbach in the seventh round in 2017, 192nd overall. He played four seasons at Wisconsin before signing his entry-level contract in 2021.

Former Sabres prospects Filip Cederqvist and Arttu Ruotsalainen are also on Frolunda’s roster.
