San Francisco man admits theft after foot chase in Colma: police

(KRON) – According to Colma police, after a short chase, a suspect admitted to the theft and was arrested.

On July 14 at 6:39 p.m., Colma Police responded to a store on Colma Boulevard. While officers were investigating a previous theft, the emergency exit alarm went off. The store manager was notified that an individual had stolen several items and fled through the emergency exit.


After police attempted to stop the suspect, a chase ensued. According to Colma police, the suspect surrendered and was arrested at a nearby cemetery, according to a photo provided by Colma police.

The suspect was identified as 36-year-old Dennis Palmer of San Francisco.

Palmer admitted to the theft, police said. Palmer was found to have stolen merchandise valued at approximately $393.67.

He was arrested on charges of petty theft and resisting a police officer. Colma police said he was issued a summons and released on his promise to appear in court.
