Father and son arrested for assault after domestic dispute in Eldred Township

ELDRED TWP., Pennsylvania (EYT) – Police say an argument escalated into a physical altercation during a domestic incident between a father and his son in Eldred Township.

Court records show that Marienville State Police have filed charges against the 46-year-old Adam Lee Nichols and 21 years old Brady Lee Nicholsboth of Brookville, in District Judge Gregory Bazylak’s office on Tuesday, July 16.

According to the criminal complaint, PSP Marienville was called to a report of a domestic incident at a residence in the 1700 block of Caldwell Corners Road in Eldred Township, Jefferson County at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Friday, July 12.

Officers arrived at the scene and spoke with the victim, who had a bloody bump/cut on his forehead. He reported that at approximately 6:35 p.m. there was a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Brady Nichols and his father, Adam Nicholssays the complaint.

According to the complaint, the victim told police that Brady hit him in the head with an Xbox controller.

Through investigation, it became clear that the dispute was due to an incident related to Snapchat and Brady Nichols.

After hitting the victim with the controller, both Adam and the victim held Brady down. Adam Nichols then pushed Brady Nichols against his bedroom wall and punched him in the face, the complaint states.

A large hole in the drywall was discovered on site, the complaint continues.

Brady was found to have large bumps on his forehead, a bloody lip and a cut under his left ear, the complaint states.

Both individuals were arraigned before Judge Bazylak on Saturday morning, July 13, on the following charges:

  • Simple assault, misdemeanor 2
  • Harassment – ​​Physically harassing others, summary

The defendants were released on unsecured bail of $5,000.00 each.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 25, at 2:00 p.m., with Judge Bazylak presiding.
