3 dead in plane crash at Ohio airport – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

VIENNA – Three people were killed when a plane crashed at an airport in northeast Ohio on Friday.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna Township, WOIO And WKYC.

According to reports, a multi-engine aircraft attempted an emergency landing after a suspected mechanical failure, crashed and caught fire next to the runway.

The pilot and two passengers of the plane died in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will conduct an independent investigation into the crash.
