Chillicothe daily police report shows a multitude of incidents

CHILLICOT, Ohio – On July 19, 2024, Chillicothe Police responded to a series of incidents throughout the city, reflecting the diverse challenges law enforcement faces on a daily basis.

The day began with a reported domestic dispute at 149 E. 5th St., where officers were dispatched following a disturbance. Later in the morning, officers responded to a threatening incident at 28 N Paint St., highlighting the diversity of calls received.

Traffic-related issues were also common throughout the day. An incident on Western Avenue involving failure to maintain marked lanes and driving while prohibited drew police attention, while another stop on N Bridge Street involved expired license plates and other driving-prohibition violations.

In the afternoon, officers responded to a shoplifting incident at Dollar General on E Main St., underscoring ongoing concerns about shoplifting in the community. At the same time, cooperation with neighboring law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of a suspect on the Ross-Pickaway County line.

As evening approached, drug-related incidents came to the fore. A traffic stop on South McArthur Street resulted in an arrest for possession of a Schedule I or II substance, while separate disturbance incidents occurred on East 7th and Orange Streets, one of which involved endangering an intoxicated person.

The day ended with officers responding to trespassing complaints at the Valero gas station on N Bridge Street and a trespassing theft reported on N Hickory Street, where a missing cellphone led to a police report for documentation.

During these incidents, the Chillicothe Police Department maintained an active presence and responded promptly to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the community.
