Adult dead, 2 children injured after car-pedestrian crash in Berkeley Co.

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – One person is dead and two children are in the hospital after a truck collided with three pedestrians Friday night.

According to police, the accident occurred around 8:50 p.m. on Forty-One Road near Spider Lane, about three kilometers south of St. Stephen.

The driver of a 1996 GMC pickup truck was traveling south on Forty-One Road when he collided with three pedestrians.

The adult pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.

Both children were injured and taken to MUSC for treatment.

The Berkeley County Coroner has not yet released the victim’s name.

There was no information on whether charges will be filed in this case.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says this accident remains under investigation.
