4 dead in head-on collision in Waterbury – NBC Connecticut

Four people died in a head-on collision in Waterbury on Friday evening.

At around 11 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Thomaston Avenue after a two-vehicle crash was reported.

According to police, a car was traveling south on Thomaston Avenue when it collided head-on with a car traveling north in the same area. Both vehicles were reportedly speeding.

Investigators said that after the accident, both vehicles caught fire and burst into flames.

Three people in one vehicle and one person in the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said all four people were adults. Their identities were not released.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
